Hip Hop Record Label Cancels on the ADA

Categories: Celebrities, Lifestyle

The American Diabetes Association planned to join forces with the hip-hop record labels Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment to host an luxury after-party for the VMA’s - unforunately, only five days before the August 25th event, head honcho Bryan “Birdman” Williams cancelled the event, citing concerns over the safety of guests and attendees. This was bad news for MTV Music Award show attendees and those lucky enough to land a ticket. Powerhouses Birdman and Lil’ Wayne were to host the event with Busta Rhymes and DJ Khaled appearing as musical guests. Although the party was invite-only, the organizers still claimed that the overwhelming response and attendees were the cause for canceling the show. Very few tickets were sold to the public that ranged from $250 for basic admission to $500 for VIP admission with all proceeds benefitting the ADA.

The cause for the inital partenership was that Birdman believed in giving back and wanted to “party with a purpose” – he still hopes to return at a future date so that he can party with a purpose with  fans.
